Maybe you want to know how to disable comments in WordPress. The subject of the comments is controversial, maybe people wonder why they can’t leave their opinion in your post, well, there are several situations.
We can disable comments on posts, because it doesn’t seem necessary for your readers to interact with that post, or for security reasons.
One of the most common problems lately, unfortunately, is spam. It can be a software, it can be someone who wants to spoil your work.
In any case, don’t worry, WordPress has the ability to disable comments on posts, pages, or completely remove comments from your entire website.
Turn off comments in WordPress for future posts and pages
In this first case, we will disable comments for all future comments in WordPress. We go to the Settings → Discussions menu in your WordPress admin panel.
On this tab, you only need to uncheck the option “Allow people to post comments on new articles” and then click on the Save Changes button to store your settings.
Disable Comments on a Specific Page or Post
If we don’t want to be as resounding as we did in the previous step, we can disable comments for a specific page or post.
Go to Post → All Posts from the left sidebar. On the next page, you must hover your mouse cursor over the title of a page you wish to enable or disable comments and click on the Edit link.
In the top right corner of our post we will find the drop-down menu to access the options of the post, this menu is distinguished by having three vertical points.
Now we are going to click on Discussion, in case this option is uncheck. Discussion must be checked.
Once you have selected Discussion in the menu that appeared, we must check that in the right side menu. Now we can remove the Comments.
If we are using the classic WordPress editor, we go down to find the Discussion section and uncheck comments.
